Join us to visit Foto Arsenal Wien is the city’s latest institution dedicated to photographic media. Opened in autumn 2022, the Arsenal is housed in a renovated mid-century brick building in the Arsenal complex, the Centre serves as a venue for contemporary and historical photography.

With a spacious 1,000 m² of exhibition area, Foto Arsenal Wien hosts ten exhibitions annually, focusing on the interplay between analog and digital image production, still and moving images, and themes both local and global.

Strategically situated among major cultural landmarks — including Belvedere 21 and the rehearsal spaces of the Vienna State Opera — the Centre also plays an active role in FOTO WIEN, the city’s biennial photography festival.

The museum fosters education and accessibility, offering workshops for all ages, an analog darkroom, and facilities fully equipped for barrier-free access. The adjacent Filmmuseum LAB deepens its commitment to visual preservation and discourse.

Starting June 2025, visitors can relax in a new café and beer garden — fully accessible, like the rest of the museum.
